We are passionate about bees, beekeeping, and nature conservation, and we’re thrilled to offer you the opportunity to experience beekeeping firsthand. Join us for one of our relaxed, fun, and informative beekeeping experience days, led by professional beekeepers; Simon Noble and Chloe Harvey, here at Furzedown Farm Wildlife Conservation Woodland.

What to expect from your beekeeping experience

Your beekeeping experience will include:

  • An introduction to The Noble Bee and our conservation woodland
  • Honey tasting — try an assortment of honeys from around the world
  • A chat about the life cycle of bees, including the different roles within the hive and swarming
  • A look at the day in the life of a beekeeper and what to expect through a typical season
  • An overview of the equipment required to keep bees
  • A delicious lunch served down in the woods by the pond
  • Practical advice on what you can do in your own gardens to have a positive effect on bees and other pollinating insects
  • The chance to observe a wild bee colony in our natural log observation hive
  • A hands-on look inside an active beehive — we'll walk through the woodland to our training apiary where you'll inspect your own hive
  • Make your own beeswax candle
  • A jar of our delicious honey to take home
  • The pocket guide Planting for Honey Bees (kindly donated by author Sarah Wyndham Lewis and our friends at Bermondsey Street Bees in London)
  • A visit to the Honey Room and our pop-up shop at the bee farm
  • Tea and coffee station available all day

The Details

  • Duration: Around 5 hours, starting at 10:30am (includes a relaxed lunch break)
  • Group size: Limited to 10 people per session
  • Price: £120 per person

Cancellation Policy

We have a 30-day cancellation policy, which also applies to date changes. If you need to reschedule, please notify us at least 30 days before your original booking date. If you're within the 30 day window, please contact us and we'll do our best to assist.

Dietary Requirements

If you have any special dietary requirements, please email us at least one week before the event, so that we can make necessary arrangements for you. Please send this information to: debs@thenoblebee.co.uk along with the date of the event, your name and ticket number.
